September Meeting & AGM

An afternoon of practical demonstrations, government briefings and the association's Annual General Meeting, held at the historic Cuppacumbalong Homestead in Tharwa.

The afternoon runs as four sessions. Come for all of it or just the parts that are useful to you, and select the sessions you will attend when you register.

Programme

3:00pm - Virtual fencing: show and tell Presenters from Gallagher and Halter demonstrate their virtual fencing systems on the lawn, weather permitting. A chance to see the collars and base stations in person, ask about coverage, battery life and setup costs, and hear how the technology is being used on working properties. ACT Government staff are welcome at this session.

4:00pm - Water for Agriculture, and rural update A presentation from the ACT Government on Water for Agriculture, followed by a rural update from Bren Burkevics, Executive Group Manager, Environment Heritage and Parks. Bring your questions.

5:00pm - Afternoon tea and networking Afternoon tea on the verandah, and an opportunity to talk bushfire preparedness with Sonia Persiditis from the Auditor-General's office.

6:00pm - AGM and General Meeting Held in the Billiards Room. The AGM covers the year's reports and the election of the committee, followed by general business.

Who can attend

All ACT rural landholders and farmers are welcome. You do not need to be a current member to come along to the afternoon sessions. Attendance at the AGM itself is for financial members.

Getting there

Cuppacumbalong is on Naas Road just past the Tharwa bridge, about 30 minutes south of Tuggeranong. Parking is on site. The virtual fencing demonstration is outdoors, so dress for the weather and wear something suitable for walking on grass.
