Event Overview:

Join us for "Politics in the Paddock," a moderated panel discussion by Genevieve Jacobs focused on the future of agriculture in the ACT. As urban areas expand and farmlands shrink, understanding where our political leaders stand on critical issues affecting our rural community is more important than ever. This event will allow the community to engage directly with party leaders and prospective portfolio representatives, asking questions about land preservation, farming diversity, and recognising farmers as meaningful custodians of our land.

Key Details:

  • Panel Discussion: 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

  • Socialising with Food and Drinks: 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Annual General Meeting and General Meeting:

Before the panel discussion, we will hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and General Meeting from 3:30 pm. to 5:00 pm. This is session for our members and new members to review the past year’s activities, elect office bearers, and discuss the association's strategic direction. We strongly encourage all farmers to attend this meeting to help shape the future of ACT Farmers.

Mitchell Perry (Natural Capital Economics) and Matthew Selinske (Mosaic Insights) will provide an overview of the Agricultural and Food in the ACT project and discuss the findings from the landholder survey and other key findings relevant to landholders.

RSVP Information:

Please RSVP here or by emailing ckeirnan57@gmail.com by 16th September. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Catherine Keirnan at 0412 788 174.

We look forward to your participation in both the AGM and our “Politics in the Paddock” event. Let’s come together to ensure a strong and vibrant future for agriculture in the ACT.
